دسمبر 2025 میں پنجاب حکومت کی جانب سے cancer اور cardiac patients کے لیے special cards کے حوالے سے بھی ہدایات جاری کی گئی تھیں۔ سرکاری briefing میں بتایا گیا کہ cancer اور heart disease کے مریضوں کے treatment costs حکومت برداشت کرے گی، جبکہ پہلے phase میں 45,000 patients کے فائدہ اٹھانے کا ذکر کیا گیا تھا۔
لیکن ناظرین، یہاں ایک بات بہت ضروری ہے۔
ہر مریض کے لیے ہر treatment automatically free ہونے کا مطلب یہ نہیں کہ مریض بغیر verification کے کسی بھی hospital میں جا کر تمام services حاصل کر سکتا ہے۔ Eligibility، card activation، empaneled hospital، treatment package اور program rules کو متعلقہ official channel سے verify کرنا ضروری ہے۔
آئیے اب step by step جانتے ہیں کہ یہ initiative کیا ہے، کس مقصد کے لیے ہے، cancer patients کو کیا support مل سکتی ہے، hospital جاتے وقت کون سے documents رکھنے چاہئیں، اور fake agents سے کیسے بچنا ہے۔

Chief Minister’s Special Initiative for Cancer Patients پنجاب حکومت کا cancer care support initiative ہے۔
اس کا بنیادی مقصد cancer کے علاج کے مالی بوجھ کو کم کرنا اور eligible مریضوں کو quality treatment تک رسائی فراہم کرنا ہے۔

Cancer Diagnosis کیوں اہم ہے؟
Cancer کے علاج میں early diagnosis بہت اہم کردار ادا کر سکتا ہے۔
اگر کسی شخص میں غیر معمولی علامات موجود ہوں تو انہیں ignore نہیں کرنا چاہیے۔
مثلاً:
- جسم میں غیر معمولی lump
- مسلسل unexplained weight loss
- غیر معمولی bleeding
- مسلسل کھانسی یا آواز میں تبدیلی
- زخم کا دیر سے ٹھیک ہونا
- جسم کے کسی حصے میں مسلسل درد
- bowel یا bladder habits میں غیر معمولی تبدیلی
جیسے symptoms کی صورت میں qualified doctor سے medical evaluation کروانا ضروری ہے۔

Cancer Treatment Card کا تصور
Chief Minister’s Special Initiative کے تحت cancer patients کے لیے Special Initiative Card کا mechanism متعارف کرایا گیا ہے۔

کیا ہر cancer patient eligible ہے؟
یہ ایک بہت اہم سوال ہے۔
صرف cancer diagnosis ہونا اور program کی ہر benefit کے لیے automatically eligible ہونا ایک ہی بات نہیں۔
Eligibility کا تعلق program کے rules، patient verification، treatment status، card process اور authorized healthcare facility سے ہو سکتا ہے۔
اس لیے اگر کسی patient کو cancer diagnose ہوا ہے تو اسے متعلقہ official health facility یا program کے authorized channel سے eligibility confirm کرنی چاہیے۔
Social media پر موجود غیرمصدقہ eligibility lists پر انحصار نہ کریں۔
Patient کو سب سے پہلے کیا کرنا چاہیے؟
اگر کسی شخص کو cancer کا شبہ ہے تو سب سے پہلے qualified doctor سے medical examination کروائیں۔
اگر cancer diagnose ہو چکا ہے تو:

Pediatric oncology treatment specialist doctors کی نگرانی میں ہونا چاہیے۔
والدین کو internet سے خود treatment شروع نہیں کرنا چاہیے۔
Chemotherapy کیا ہے؟
Chemotherapy cancer treatment کا ایک اہم طریقہ ہے جس میں مخصوص medicines cancer cells کو target کرنے کے لیے استعمال کی جاتی ہیں۔
Chemotherapy ہر cancer patient کے لیے ایک جیسی نہیں ہوتی۔
Medicine، dose، cycle اور duration cancer کی type، stage اور patient کی medical condition کے مطابق doctor طے کرتا ہے۔
اس لیے اگر program میں chemotherapy coverage شامل ہے تو اس کا مطلب یہ نہیں کہ ہر patient کے لیے ایک ہی chemotherapy protocol ہوگا۔
Treatment ہمیشہ oncology specialist کے medical plan کے مطابق ہونا چاہیے۔
Radiotherapy کیا ہے؟
Radiotherapy میں high-energy radiation کا استعمال cancer cells کو treat کرنے کے لیے کیا جاتا ہے۔
یہ treatment بھی cancer کی type اور location کے مطابق مختلف ہو سکتا ہے۔
Official Punjab cancer initiative information میں radiotherapy کو covered cancer care services میں شامل کیا گیا ہے۔

Empaneled Hospitals کیا ہوتے ہیں؟
Punjab Government کے مطابق cancer initiative کی services public اور private healthcare facilities کے ایک network کے ذریعے فراہم کی جانی ہیں۔
اس لیے یہ ضروری ہے کہ patient پہلے معلوم کرے کہ جس hospital میں treatment لینا ہے وہ program کے تحت authorized یا empaneled ہے یا نہیں۔
کسی بھی private hospital کو صرف یہ سمجھ کر payment نہ کریں کہ وہ government program کے تحت ہے۔
Hospital کی authorization official source سے verify کریں۔
اگر آپ کا قریبی hospital program میں شامل نہ ہو؟
اگر کوئی hospital program کے network میں شامل نہیں ہے تو patient کو خود سے یہ assume نہیں کرنا چاہیے کہ treatment automatically cover ہوگا۔
Patient متعلقہ official health department یا authorized program desk سے پوچھ سکتا ہے کہ nearest empaneled facility کون سی ہے۔

کیا 10 لاکھ روپے cash ملتے ہیں؟
یہ بات خاص طور پر سمجھنا ضروری ہے۔

CNIC کی حفاظت
CNIC ایک اہم identity document ہے۔
کسی unknown WhatsApp number پر CNIC کی تصویر بھیجنے سے پہلے verify کریں کہ وہ official service provider ہے۔
اگر کسی hospital یا government office میں CNIC copy درکار ہے تو صرف authorized counter پر submit کریں۔
اپنے documents کی unnecessary copies مختلف افراد کو نہ دیں۔

Family کو کیا کرنا چاہیے؟
Cancer treatment صرف patient کے لیے نہیں بلکہ پوری family کے لیے challenging ہو سکتا ہے۔
Family members کو چاہیے کہ:
- Medical reports ایک file میں رکھیں۔
- Treatment schedule لکھ کر رکھیں۔

اگر Treatment پہلے سے جاری ہے؟

Medical Social Services سے اضافی مدد
Punjab Social Welfare Department کے مطابق پنجاب بھر میں 113 Medical Social Services Units قائم ہیں۔
یہ units needy اور destitute patients کے لیے medicines اور treatment expenses میں assistance فراہم کر سکتی ہیں۔
Department کے مطابق بعض بڑے medical expenses والے cases کو Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal کی طرف بھی refer کیا جا سکتا ہے۔
اس لیے اگر cancer patient کو treatment کے مالی اخراجات برداشت کرنے میں مشکل ہو تو متعلقہ hospital میں Medical Social Services Unit کے بارے میں ضرور معلوم کریں۔
Zakat Assistance
Punjab Zakat & Ushr Department کے مطابق deserving patients کے لیے medical treatment کے سلسلے میں Zakat funds کا mechanism بھی موجود ہے۔
Department کے مطابق mustahiq patient کی eligibility local Zakat & Ushr Committee کے ذریعے determine کی جاتی ہے، اور eligible patient Istehqaq Certificate لے کر متعلقہ hospital کی Health Welfare Committee سے treatment assistance کے لیے رابطہ کر سکتا ہے۔
یہ mechanism الگ rules کے تحت کام کرتا ہے، اس لیے patient کو متعلقہ committee یا hospital سے current status verify کرنا چاہیے۔
Cancer Hospital Development
Punjab Government نے Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research کے قیام کا بھی اعلان کیا تھا۔
2024 کے official announcement کے مطابق لاہور میں 915-bed cancer hospital کو دو phases میں قائم کرنے کا منصوبہ بتایا گیا تھا، جس میں oncology، pediatric oncology، operation theatres، radiation therapy bunkers، ICU اور emergency facilities شامل کرنے کی تفصیلات دی گئی تھیں۔
2025 کے World Cancer Day message میں پنجاب حکومت کی جانب سے یہ بھی کہا گیا تھا کہ Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital میں cancer patients کو free treatment فراہم کیا جائے گا۔
2026 میں بھی cancer care کو پنجاب حکومت کے بڑے health initiatives میں شامل کیا گیا ہے۔
Cancer Treatment میں Delay نہ کریں
اگر doctor نے cancer testing یا specialist consultation کا مشورہ دیا ہے تو اسے unnecessarily delay نہ کریں۔
Cancer کا علاج ایک complex process ہے۔
صرف home remedies یا social media tips پر انحصار کرنا خطرناک ہو سکتا ہے۔
اگر کسی doctor نے biopsy، scan یا specialist consultation recommend کی ہے تو qualified medical professional سے follow-up کریں۔
Self-Medication سے بچیں
Cancer کی medicines عام painkillers یا عام antibiotics کی طرح خود سے استعمال نہیں کرنی چاہئیں۔
